I have been a musician and rocket scientist since 4th grade.  I play drums/keyboards for the LA based instrumental rock band Beware of Safety, write electronic music as The Laterite Road, and just landed something on Mars.  More info can be found at my website.

Oh, I also build mobile tiki bars.

I just discovered your extensive article on adding electronics to an existing acoustic drum kit. I found it fascinating. I also have a few Dauz pads triggering a Roland TD-10 sprinkled in my existing acoustic kit. I’d like to figure out the best way to add software sampler capability along with possi ly a small USB keyboard. I’m afraid that I’m having a hard time deciding where to start. I just don’t know enough about Ableton or any similar software packages. I’d love to have the chance to talk to you about resources to educate myself on some of these ideas.

Perhaps you can reply to this email and allow me to ask you a few quick questions. I hope you have the time, you do sound busy.

Look forward to hearing from you.
