#7 A2G EP – Blackalicious

And my job description
A rap technician
From sun up to sun down
And it’s clockwork

If I’m in the mood, I love hip hop.  For some reason, I found it pretty easy to internalize the raps of the 90’s.  I could probably still spit the majority of Tag Team’s Whoop (There It Is) on cut, possibly large sections of Will Smith’s Men in Black, Tupac’s California Love, or Coolio’s 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin New) on good days.  For me, it’s about the samples, tracks, and grooves, and if the lyrics are good, so be it.  A to G and Alphabet  Aerobics (The Cut Chemist 2 ½ Minute Workout) put to rest any doubts of of Tim Parker’s skills as an MC.  He’s pretty phenomenal really.  Unfortunately (like most rap) there’s only so much in-song self promotion I can listen to in one sitting.  The tracks are pretty good overall, and have a lo(wer)-fi feel that I enjoy.
